Spectacular end of year show by GAU Group of Schools
American College - The International Prep School of Girne American University Group of Schools, held a “Musicology 2014” performance at the 2013/2014 academic year end of year event.
The event was attended by Sevim Erdal - wife of GAU Chair of Board of Trustees - Memduh Erdal, Chair of GAU Health, Culture and Sports Office - Türkay Akpınar, Chair of GAU Group of Schools and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators - Cemile Esenyel, Principals of American College and also parents of the students.
Paula Branch - Principal of The International Prep School said in her speech that the 2013/2014 academic year has been very active in the area of academic, social and sports where students have shown significant success.
The English performances held by the future opinion leaders in The International Prep School received a very deserved round of applause. Students performed their “Musicology 2014” show quite professionally and presented the popular music of today as well as representing their countries with colorful costumes. During the event ballerinas performed their show with the assistance of their GAU Stage School teachers’ instructions and a performance entitled Bhangra of India was performed by the year 5 students with their spectacular dance show and costumes.
The nostalgia category performed by the Turkish Department students, included world classics such as Peter Pan, Roman, Cinderella and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and were performed accompanied by music and dance. Students started their summer holidays by finishing the event with the popular “Happy” song.
Chair of GAU Group of School - Cemile Esenyel presented a plaque of success to Dilara Metay, Elizaveta Basueva and Fatih Seğmen - year 5, who were placed in top rank for completing the project entitled “Cyprus” with a degree according to the assesments of their teachers. Plaques were also presented to Mustafa Esenyel and Nazar Hordan for showing successful performances in theatre plays and social activities throughout their education life from pre-school to the present and for maintaining successful performance throughout in sports and scholastic activities, and to Tara Gürbay for her social sensitivity and congatulations were given to all those students, who graduated from primary school, for their success.
