As of Fall 2020, you can start your studies at the GAU Campus located in Kyrenia, Cyprus and have a chance to continue your studies in the US! Or if you prefer you can complete your studies without going to the US.

ADMISSIONS CRITERIA

As an undergraduate student have 2 options to pursue your studies:



Option 1: PATHWAY


You can spend 1 or 2 years at GAU as a University of Arizona Student and then continue your studies at the University of Arizona’s main campus in Tucson, Arizona. Your courses will be online for this duration, with some tutorial assistance from GAU and once in Tucson, Arizona you will convert to in-person classes. Pathway program will allow you to choose from more than 150 majors available at the University of Arizona!

Option 2: GLOBAL CAMPUS EXPERIENCE


If you do not have the intention of going to the US, or cannot make it to Arizona but still would like to study at a top-notch Higher Education Institution, you can choose this option! Included in your tuition is the chance to study 1 semester in person at the Tucson, Arizona campus (Study Arizona) while taking in-person classes. The Global Campus Experience will allow you to choose from 40 majors available to you at the University of Arizona Global Campus in Cyprus.



** You can switch from Pathway program to Global Campus Experience within 2 years of your admission with no penalties.



UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

There are 2 criteria for Admission to the University of Arizona.


First Criteria is the Academic Proficiency

You should have a High School Diploma with a cumulative GPA of 7 out of 10 or 3 out of 4 or similar.



Second criteria is the English Proficiency:

You should have a 70 in TOEFL or a 6 or higher in IELTS or similar.

Alternatively, you can apply to take the 'CEPT Full Academic Test'. The CEPT test is administered online by the University of Arizona. Completion of the test with 100 points fulfills the English proficiency requirements for the University of Arizona without a need to take a further IELTS/TOEFL etc. test.


** Students who do not meet the English Proficiency can apply to the Arizona University after studying for one year at GAU Preparatory School and fulfilling the required English proficiency. Or alternatively, can consider University of Arizona's English as a Second Language Program which allows students to fulfill UArizona's English Proficiency requirement.



GRADUATE ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

There are 2 criteria for Admission to the University of Arizona.


First Criteria is the Academic Proficiency

You should have a CGPA of 3 out of 4 or similar from a recognized higher education institution.


Second criteria is the English Proficiency:

You should have a 79 in TOEFL or a 7 or higher in IELTS or similar

There are more than 150 majors at the University of Arizona!


You can choose your major with your Academic Advisor once you start university. You can select your major in light of the courses that you take in your first-year!


Even if you know what major you would like to study, you can still change it during the course of your first-year! It's your choice!

Pathway

GLOBAL CAMPUS EXPERIENCE

If you do not have the intention of going to the US, or cannot make it to Arizona but still would like to study at a top-notch Higher Education Institution, you can choose this option! Included in your tuition is the chance to study 1 semester in person at the Tucson, Arizona campus (Study Arizona) while taking in-person classes. The Global Campus Experience will allow you to choose from *45 majors *available to you at the University of Arizona Global Campus in Cyprus.




Transfer to Undergraduate Programs

It is possible to transfer into the 1st and 2nd and 3rd years of the University of Arizona Global Campus. Unfortunately we are not accepting applications to 4th year. If you are a 4th year student, please consider our Master programs.


In order to apply as a transfer student you have to fulfil 2 criteria:


First Criteria is the Academic Proficiency

You should have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above out of 4.

Please note: The University of Arizona will determine which of your courses are eligible for use as transfer credits.

Tuition for the Undergraduate programs is 15,000 USD.

Everyone who is starting their studies at the University of Arizona Global Campus in Cyprus in Fall 2020 will receive a scholarship worth 8,000 USD!

This will bring your tuition fees down to approximately 7,000 USD per year.

Tuition

Tuition for Undergraduate Programs are proportional to the number of credit-hours registered. Students who choose to study at the Arizona University Global Campus in Cyprus will pay 333 USD per credit-hour. Accordingly, for each year the tuition fees will be approximately 7,000 USD.*


The tuition is the same for the Pathway Program as well as for the Global Campus Experience Program.


*A course at the University of Arizona is worth approximately 3 credits. Students take an average of 5 courses in a semester, which means the students complete 15 credits in a semester. This amounts to 10 courses or 30 credits in a given Academic Year. Accordingly: 30 credits x 333 USD = 6,990 USD.


* *Pathway program students switch from online education to in-person education when they move to the main campus in Tucson, Arizona. Accordingly, they will switch to regular in-person tuition fees of the University of Arizona. Students may be eligible to special discounts when they transition to the main campus.


** *Global Campus Experience *students do not pay additional fees to attend a semester at the University of Arizona. Study Arizona fees are included in their tuition



Graduate

Tuition for Master's and PhD Programs are proportional to the number of credit-hours earned. Students who choose to study at the Arizona University Global Campus in Cyprus will pay 333 USD per credit-hours. Accordingly, for each year the tuition fees will be approximately* 10,000 USD.* According to your program this amount can vary*


*A course at the University of Arizona is worth approximately 3 credits. Students take an average of 5 courses in a semester, which means the students complete 15 credits in a semester. This amounts to 10 courses or 30 credits in a given Academic Year. Accordingly: 30 credits x 333 USD = 9,990 USD.


** Pricing will differ according to the program of choice (for instance Master of Laws program is 24 credits, so approximately 8,000 USD)


University of Arizona Cyprus Campus

Covid-19 pandemic is unfortunately continuing. Many countries have closed their borders to cope with the epidemic, many countries have closed their consulates and airlines have reduced their flights.


In this period, the University of Arizona and Girne American University signed an agreement to to help students want to study abroad achieve their dreams. Through this partnership, students will have a chance to earn their US Degree through a mix of online courses and tutorial assistance of the GAU.


As part of this Agreement, students can pursue their studies in a safe environment at affordable prices and in the end earn an internationally recognised diploma.

Where is GAU?

Girne American University is located in Kyrenia in northern part of Cyprus. Turkish is the official language, however English is widely known and spoken.
