Nutrition and Dietetics – Professional Description
A Dietitian is a healthcare professional who has completed a bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and is qualified to promote healthy nutrition, develop and implement medical nutrition therapy, and support individuals in achieving optimal health through evidence-based dietary practices.
Dietitians assess the nutritional needs of individuals based on their age, gender, health status, and lifestyle. They provide medical nutrition therapy for conditions such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. They also play an active role in preventive healthcare by delivering nutrition education programs and promoting healthy eating habits within the community.
Using scientific principles, dietitians support healthy living by ensuring the proper preparation, storage, and consumption of food.
Nutrition and Dietetics – Program Outcomes
